GEOMAGNETIC STORM: A solar wind stream hit Earth during the late hours of Feb. 4th, sparking a G2-class (Kp=6) geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers in Scandinavia, Russia, Canada, Alaska and perhaps even northern-tier US states such as Maine, Minnesota and Wisconsin, should be alert for auroras on Friday night. At 09.25 UTC I worked 4Z5NX/QRP Shimon from Tel Aviv, Israel on 14060 KHz with both 5 watts. A good start for the Saturday.

Good morning Paul, When I checked the propagation this morning I was shocked to see the A index at 15, the solar wind at almost 600. Having said that this is all part of the sun waking up and becoming active.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim, we also have a storm at the moment along the North Sea Coast. Winds guts up to 90 km/sec. I can't understand you have enough snow storms, I saw it in our 8 o'clock news. 73 Paul
